Kees & Claire Hut Opening
Hi Everyone,
We’re very excited that the Kees and Claire Hut is reopening for bookings as of today! Given the new public health orders of June 15th we are able to open safely in a limited capacity. We can accept parties of up to 6 people within a single booking for a 2 night minimum. Unfortunately given the extra costs of cleaning, management and admin we have to charge a minimum $600 for up to 6 people. We understand that this is more than we normally charge and we hope to get back to normal pricing soon. However these funds are much needed for the Spearhead Huts Society. We have had to maintain the hut, fulfill insurance requirements and we need to complete construction of the huts! Your booking and associated funds are very appreciated. There will be no refunds given for these bookings.
While in the hut we ask you to abide by all Covid protocols which will be provided at registration. Your party will also be required to complete a sanitizing clean of the hut upon departure. A checklist will be provided that must be checked off and signed by the trip organizer.
Access to the hut is a bit challenging at the moment given the amount of snow still in the alpine. During summer months you can’t bring skis up the Whistler gondola. Hiking from the roundhouse may be possible but there is lots of snow. Hiking up the singing pass is possible and skiing or snowshoeing at some point may be possible as well. It is your group’s responsibility to make a safe plan getting to and from the hut.
