Hut Facilities:
The hut is located at (50.02235 N, -122.87230 W)

The Kees and Claire Hut has 38 bunks divided into 6 sleeping areas and features:

  • 38 sleeping bunks, each with a sleeping pad/mattress

  • Kitchen with Four 2-burner propane cooktops

  • Kitchen equipment and supplies including pots, pans, plates, utensils, mugs, glasses, coffee bodums, and teapots

  • Propane direct-vent heaters and a propane furnace

  • Three urine/solid separating toilets

  • Twelve USB ports for recharging phones and GPS units

Family Room (Room 1):

The first bedroom on the left when you come down the stairs is prioritized for families. The door has a combination number provided by the hut custodian. (This room is sometimes used for families.) R1-A is the bottom bunk on your left when you enter the room. R1-A also includes a gear cubby in the main hallway.

Items to bring to Kees and Claire Hut:

  • 3 Season Sleeping Bag (The sleeping area is 8-10 degrees Celsius)

Water:

Running water is now available from taps in the kitchen and bunk levels, thanks to the newly installed well and engineered treatment system.

Current Water Status: Non-Potable
We are currently working through the regulatory process with Vancouver Coastal Health. Guests must boil or treat the tap water before consumption.

  • Water consumption can be 200 - 250 litres a day for drinking, cooking, and cleaning. Please be mindful of your water use.

  • Wastewater disposal is provided at the hut.

Do not use your own personal stove for cooking or heating anywhere in the hut.

There are no garbage disposal facilities for guests. You must pack out everything that you pack in.

Please leave nothing behind when you leave the hut.
