Big News: Macbeth Hut breaks ground
The Spearhead Huts Society broke ground on the Macbeth Hut last month, marking a major milestone for the project.
Crews have set up a construction camp near the build site, complete with wooden tent platforms, a large cook tent, sanitation facilities, and a water supply drawn from a nearby tarn.

Site preparation on the building footprint revealed deep glacial till which is ideal ground conditions for the concrete strip foundation system we're using. In the coming weeks, crews will build concrete forms with the goal of pouring foundation walls before Labour Day.
At the end of September, the camp will be deconstructed and the site winterized for the season. This summer's objective is to complete the hut's foundation, clearing the way to assemble the building's prefabricated panels.
Over the winter, we'll prefabricate much of the A-frame structure in the valley, and when summer returns in 2027, we'll assemble this beautiful building on the shoulder of Mt. Macbeth.
