Kees and Claire Hut Winter 21/22 Update
With fresh snow in the hills and Whistler Blackcomb opening only weeks away we thought we’d give you an update on what’s happening with Spearhead Huts Society.
New Operations Manager
We’re very excited to welcome Nick Brown on as the new Operations Manager for the Spearhead Huts Society. About Nick “Riding the backcountry is my favorite part of and one of my talents, taking care of a place for us to be safe and combine our enthusiasm is a second. With years of experience working as an electrician in remote areas across Canada from the arctic circle to dusty southern prairies I've been learning to fix all different systems for both ends of extreme weather spectrums!”
Nick will be overseeing all aspects of hut maintenance, custodian management and reservations. To get in touch with Nick email nick@spearheadhuts.org.
The board would like to thank Larry Jung for his hard work over the last couple years! We absolutely could not have have opened and managed the hut in such trying times without Larry. See you in the mountains!

New Covid Vaccination Policy
For the protection of all our guests and custodians, the Spearhead Huts Society is requiring all guests to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for the 2021/2022 season.
How does it work?
It is a one-time on-line vaccine verification process. Email: vaccinations@spearheadhuts.org with the following information:
Full Name
Reservation date
Copy of your BC vaccine card (with QR code)
Copy of a valid government photo ID (only required for guests aged 19 or older)
We will then confirm your vaccine passport is valid and reply with your reservation confirmation and door code for the Kees and Claire Hut.
Please go view the policy online and make sure to submit your proof of vaccination ASAP if you’ve made a booking for this winter.

Fundraising
We are still fundraising for the well water and solar systems. We’ve been tremendously lucky to have received donations and grants of almost half of the $250,000 we’re trying to raise. We’re in the final stages of BC Parks Approval and would like to get these projects implemented as early as we can in the spring.
